Meet DAA’s New Spring Intern. Martha Canseco.
I’m Martha Canseco, the newest addition to Delaware Arts Alliance, and I’ll be interning with them during my spring semester at Delaware Technical Community College. Currently, in my third year at Del Tech, I’m majoring in communications, with my favorite medium being photography. While I only discovered my passion for photography in recent years, I’ve been involved in the arts my entire life. I’ve taken numerous art classes at school and even taught at my local church. There wasn’t a moment in my adolescence where you wouldn’t find me without a sketchbook in my hand.
One of my favorite artists is Zaha Hadid. She was an amazing architect, and the intricacies of her designs blow me away. Musically, my favorite artist is Hozier, as he uses religious and philosophical themes in his music, which make it more meaningful.
I chose to intern at Delaware Arts Alliance because of our shared passion for the arts. Delaware is growing at a rapid rate, and now is the time to advocate for the arts to keep up with demand. My goal for this internship is to gain familiarity with the professional work environment and to make meaningful contributions that will aid our mission. This is a new territory for me that I am eager to learn and experience and I’m sure to acquire new skills here at DAA that will serve me well in the future.
