The Delaware Photographic Society was organized as the Delaware Camera Club on January 31st, 1931, making it one of the oldest camera clubs in the country. The Society was formed to encourage and develop interest in photography. The objectives at that time were to get the best authorities to give lectures on photography; to have discussion groups within the membership to share knowledge, and to arrange an exhibition of photography in Wilmington.
Our mission is to engage and educate novice to professional photographers in a collaborative and encouraging environment creating artistic images for display for the enjoyment of the community in our region.
