On July 11, 2024, Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long’s monthly All-Hands Arts Call convened a roundtable of artists, arts administrators, educators, and advocates. Lt. Governor Hall-Long thanked everyone for their support and contributions to the arts in Delaware and invited Neil Kirschling, Executive Director of the Delaware Arts Alliance (DAA), Jessica Ball, Director of the Delaware Division of the Arts (DDOA), and Lauren Conrad, Education Associate for Visual and Performing Arts for the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) to share updates about the work of their organizations.

- Local stakeholders are invited to join the launch of the CREATE Plan (Creative Economy Advancement and Tourism Expansion Plan), which will take place:

- The launch events will present key findings of the CREATE plan and provide actionable recommendations to aid its success.
Jessica Ball, Delaware Division of the Arts (DDOA)
- DDOA received a $2M increase in the State Arts Budget from FY23, following an increase of $1M in FY24 and after nearly a decade without increases.
- 100% of the $1M increase in FY24 went towards General Operating Support grants. The additional $1M increase for FY25 will go towards other grants such as Arts Education, Education Resource, Transportation, Artist Residency, Artist Opportunity, and Project Support. https://arts.delaware.gov/grant-overview/

- DDOA is working with SMU Data Arts to evaluate the fiscal health of the arts sector.

Lauren Conrad, Education Associate for Visual and Performing Arts for the Delaware Department of Education
- The Visual and Performing Arts Summer Professional Development, “Unpacking Customized Arts Learning” hosted by the DDOA, DAA, and DDOE will take place July 24 at Delaware State University Early College in Dover, DE. The event will unveil a customized arts learning toolkit, produced by the State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education (SEADAE) to increase arts learning through student friendly experiences and provide tools to teachers and other attendees to implement the strategies statewide.

- The State Arts Conference Day will take place September 10 on the Dover Middle School Campus in Dover, DE. Registration is available for those in visual arts and performing arts. Those interested in tabling the event to advertise programming to support arts education are recommended to reach out to their education association to apply.
