The Purpose of the Lt. Governor’s Creative Economy Convenings:
Convene stakeholders to discuss topics related to the creative economy and advance CREATE Plan recommendations. Create a feedback loop between the arts community and leaders in government and other sectors to inform policy, advocacy, programming, and services.
- When: 2nd Thursday of every other month from 9:30-10:30AM, Virtual

Discussion Topic: “Pathways in the Arts: From K-12 to Career”– In celebration of “March for the Arts in Education”
- Attendees will discuss past experiences, current barriers and future opportunities related to the following two CREATE Plan recommendations:
- Improve career development opportunities for secondary education students
- Advocate for more pathway courses and associate degrees related to the creative economy
- As a result, this meeting will inform:
- Immediate ongoing conversations between DAA, Delaware Department of Education and General Assembly on potential solutions.
- Specifically, how the DAA communicates with legislators on March 27th March for the Arts Advocacy Day
- Long term vision to bridge the gap between students and higher education/careers in creative fields, promoting the creative economy as a valuable path for professional development
- Immediate ongoing conversations between DAA, Delaware Department of Education and General Assembly on potential solutions.
